Competition
Performing Arts Dance Centre offers several competitive dance teams designed for serious young dancers who are committed to the art of dance and have a passion to perform. If your child is interested in performing on a competitive team, please contact the studio directly to learn about requirements.
Performance Teams
Mini-Competition:
5 to 8 year olds (grades K-3)
Mini Competition introduces the student to the exciting world of dance competition or continuing their competition training. Mini comp focuses on tap and/or jazz. They will compete in 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA).
Jr. Competition:
9 to 12 year-olds (grades 3-6)
Jr. Competition introduces the student to the exciting world of dance competition or continuing their competition training. Junior Comp focuses on tap and/or jazz. The team will compete in 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA).
Teen Company Teams:
12 to 18 year olds (grades 7-10)
Teen Company includes teams for tap, jazz and/or lyrical. This is a great way for dancers who are involved with other activities to experience the excitement of competition without adding too much additional time. They will learn and perfect one routine to take to 3-4 regional competitions and one national competition (TBA). Please see the office for team class requirements.
Senior Company Teams:
14 to 18 year olds (grades 9-12)
Senior Company includes teams for tap, jazz and/or lyrical. This is a great way for high school dancers who are involved with other activities to experience the excitement of competition without adding too much additional time. They will learn and perfect one routine to take to 3-4 regional competitions and one national competition (TBA). Please see the office for team class requirements.
Divas & Dudes:
5 to 9 year olds (grades K-3)
This is a great way for dancers to experience the excitement of competition. They will learn and perfect one routine to take to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus), one national competition (TBA). Dancers are required to take an additional hip hop class and a tap class.
Force:
9 to 11 year olds (grades 4-6)
This is a great way for dancers to experience the excitement of competition. They will learn and perfect one routine to take to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus), one national competition (TBA). Dancers are required to take an additional hip hop class and a tap class.
Hip Hop Crew:
12 to 18 year olds (grades 7-12)
This is a great way for dancers to experience the excitement of competition. They will learn and perfect one routine to take to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus), one national competition (TBA) and also perform it in the recital. Dancers are required to take an additional hip hop class and either a tap class.
Prep Teams
Mini All-Star Team:
6 to 10 year-olds (grades 1-4)
The Mini All-Star Team is a transitional team, preparing young dancers for the elite track. This team meets two times a week learning one tap and one jazz dance to take to competitions as well as learning ballet, lyrical and acro. One year of previous competition experience required and/or teacher recommendation. Team will travel to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA).
Elite Teams
Mini Elite Team:
8 to 11 year-olds (grades 3-6)
The Mini Elite Team will learn one tap and one jazz dance to take to competitions as well as learning ballet and acro. Three years of previous competition experience required. Team will travel to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA). By audition only. Dancers will also be in a PADC team production number as well as the Jr. Ballet Company.
Jr. Elite Team:
11 to 13 year-olds (grades 5-8)
The Jr. Elite Comp. Team learns one tap, one jazz and one lyrical dance to take to competitions. Three years of previous competition experience required and/or teacher recommendation. Team will travel to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA). By teacher approval only. Dancers will also be in a PADC team production number as well as in Jr. Ballet Company.
Teen Elite Team:
11 to 16 year-olds (grades 7-11)
The Jr. Elite Comp. Team learns one tap, one jazz and one lyrical dance to take to competitions. Three years of previous competition experience required and/or teacher recommendation. Team will travel to 3-4 regional competitions (Columbus) and one national competition (TBA). By teacher approval only. Dancers will also be in a PADC team production number as well as in Jr. Ballet Company.
Sr. Elite Team:
14 to 18 year-olds (grades 9-12)

A-Team:
12 to 18 year olds (grades 7-12)
This is a competitive hip hop team that will compete in the intermediate level.
By invitation only and must have previously been on a competition team. Please see the office for team class requirements.
