CLASSES

Most levels are intended for a minimum of 2-3 years. Class placement is in the best interest of the child and is up to the teacher’s discretion. Moving a student up in a level too soon can have a negative effect on the child and their attitude towards dance.

COMBO

Combo 1

3 to 4 year olds (preschool)
A 30 minute class offering ballet, creative movement, and gymnastics all in one. Emphasizing basic physical and social skills like skipping, jumping, taking turns and waiting in a line. Pink ballet shoes are required and any style of leotard and tights.

Combo 2

4 to 5 year olds (pre-K)
A 40 minute class expanding on the skills from Combo 1 while also introducing the student to tap. Both pink ballet and black buckle tap shoes are required. Any style of leotard and tights may be worn.

S.N. Class

3 to 16 year olds
A 30 minute class helping children with special needs experience and enjoy dance class. Parents or students aids are in the class along with the student. Any style of leotard and tights may be worn. Check with teacher about shoe color and style.

Ballet

Ballet 1

5 to 7 year olds (grades K-2)
A 40 minute class concentrating on the basics positions and movements of ballet.

Ballet 2

7 to 10 year olds (grades 2-4)
A 40 minute class expanding on the basics of ballet while focusing on becoming more graceful.

Ballet 3

8 to 11 year olds (grades 4-6)
A 55 minute class increasing the student’s ballet vocabulary as well as learning a variety of leaps, turns, and jumps.

Ballet 4

11 to 16 year olds (grades 5-10)
A 55/70 minute class focusing more on the aesthetics of ballet (style, gracefulness, expression) while concentrating on the harder and more intricate footwork and movements.

Ballet 5

12 to 18 year olds (grades 6-12)
A 55/70 minute class focusing more on the aesthetics of ballet (style, gracefulness, expression) while concentrating on the harder and more intricate footwork and movements. Ballet 5 and 6 meet twice a week. Must have teacher recommendation.

Ballet 6

13 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12)
A 55/70 minute class focusing more on the aesthetics of ballet (style, gracefulness, expression) while concentrating on the harder and more intricate footwork and movements. Ballet 5 and 6 meet twice a week. Must have teacher recommendation.

Pointe

Pointe 1

12 to 18 year olds (grades 6-12)
A 30 minute class introducing pointe work to the serious ballet student. Must be enrolled in ballet 4 or higher and take 2 ballet classes as well as 2 pointe classes a week. By recommendation and audition only.

Pointe 2

14 to 18 year olds (grades 9-12)
A 30 minute class introducing pointe work to the serious ballet student. Must be enrolled in ballet 4 or higher and take 2 ballet classes as well as 2 pointe classes a week. By recommendation and audition only.

Lyrical

Lyrical 1

8 to 11 year olds (grades 3-5)
A 40 minute class combining the styles of ballet and jazz. Emphasis is on the emotion within the dance. Must be enrolled in ballet 3 or higher.

Lyrical 2

10 to 16 year olds (grades 5-10)
A 40 minute class combining the styles of ballet and jazz. Emphasis is on the emotion within the dance. Must be enrolled in ballet 3 or higher.

Lyrical 3

12 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12)
A 40 minute class combining the styles of ballet and jazz. Emphasis is on the emotion within the dance. Must be enrolled in ballet 3 or higher.

Lyrical 4

13 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12)
A 40 minute class combining the styles of ballet and jazz. Emphasis is on the emotion within the dance. Must be enrolled in ballet 3 or higher.

Jazz

Jazz 1

5 to 7 year olds (grades K-2)
A 40 minute class introducing the student to the basics of jazz dance while also to moving to the beat and finding the rhythm in music.

Jazz 2

7 to 10 year olds (grades 2-4)
A 40 minute class introducing the student to the basics of jazz dance while also to moving to the beat and finding the rhythm in music.

Jazz 3

9 to 12 year olds (grades 4-6)
A 40 minute class introducing the student to the basics of jazz dance while also to moving to the beat and finding the rhythm in music. Level 3 will be a 55 minute class that introduces a variety of leaps, turns and jumps while also improving their flexibility.

Jazz 4

11 to 16 year olds (grades 5-10)
A 55 minute class focusing more on the jazz style while concentrating on the harder and more intricate movements. To be in level 4, 5 or 6, a student must have completed the prior level or have teacher recommendation and be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz 5

12 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12)
A 55 minute class focusing more on the jazz style while concentrating on the harder and more intricate movements. To be in level 4, 5 or 6, a student must have completed the prior level or have teacher recommendation and be enrolled in a ballet class.

Jazz 6

13 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12)
A 55 minute class focusing more on the jazz style while concentrating on the harder and more intricate movements. To be in level 4, 5 or 6, a student must have completed the prior level or have teacher recommendation and be enrolled in a ballet class.

Modern

Modern

10 to 14 year olds (grades 4-8) A free style of dance that favors movement qualities using breath and weight while encompassing the students dance technique and improvisation. To be in Modern 1 or 2, the student must have teacher approval and be enrolled in a ballet class.

Modern 2

13 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12) A free style of dance that favors movement qualities using breath and weight while encompassing the students dance technique and improvisation. To be in Modern 1 or 2, the student must have teacher approval and be enrolled in a ballet class.

Teen Classes

12 to 18 year olds (grades 7-12) A 30, 40 or 55 minute class geared toward the teen dancer. This is ideal for an older child who wishes to start dancing or to learn a new style. Classes offered are Teen Ballet, Teen Tap, Teen Jazz or Teen Lyrical.

Hip Hop

Hippety Hop

5 to 6 year olds (grades K-1) A 30 minute class introducing the students to the fun style of hip hop. (A leotard or tight fitting dance top of any style or color is required.)

Mini Hip Hop

7 to 9 year olds (grades 2-4) A 40 minute class exposing the students to the popular style of hip hop.

Jr Hip Hop

10 to 12 year olds (grades 4-6) A 40 minute class exposing the students to the popular style of hip hop.

Sr. Hip Hop

13 to 18 year olds (grades 7-12) A 40 minute class exposing the students to the popular style of hip hop.

Tap

Tap 1

5 to 7 year olds (grades K-2) A 30 minute class introducing the child to the basics of tap dancing and syncopated rhythms.

Tap 2

7 to 10 year olds (grades 2-4) A 30 minute class introducing the child to the basics of tap dancing and syncopated rhythms.

Tap 3

9 to 12 year olds (grades 4-6) A 30 minute class introducing the child to the basics of tap dancing and syncopated rhythms.

Tap 4

11 to 16 year olds (grades 6-10) A 30 minute class developing the students speed and accuracy while learning a variety of steps including wings, pullbacks and toe-stands.

Tap 5

12 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12) A 30 minute class developing the students speed and accuracy while learning a variety of steps including wings, pullbacks and toe-stands.

Tap 6

13 to 18 year olds (grades 8-12) A 30 minute class developing the students speed and accuracy while learning a variety of steps including wings, pullbacks and toe-stands.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics 1

5 to 9 year olds (grades K-3) A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level. Ranging from forward rolls and cartwheels to handstands and backbends.

Gymnastics 2

6 to 12 year olds (grades 1-6) A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level. Ranging from forward rolls and cartwheels to handstands and backbends. Must be able to do a 1-handed cartwheel to be in Gym 2 and come up from a backbend to be in Gym 3.

Gymnastics 3

8 to 18 year olds (grades 3-12) A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level. Ranging from forward rolls and cartwheels to handstands and backbends. Must be able to do a 1-handed cartwheel to be in Gym 2 and come up from a backbend to be in Gym 3.

Non-Recital Technique Classes

Back Handspring Clinic

9 to 18 year olds (grades 4-12) Back Handspring Clinic and Aerial Clinic are classes geared to dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders who want to learn how to do back handsprings or aerials. These are non-recital classes that focus on exercises and drills to master the standing and round-off back handsprings

Aerial Clinic

9 to 18 year olds (grades 4-12) Back Handspring Clinic and Aerial Clinic are classes geared to dancers, gymnasts and cheerleaders who want to learn how to do back handsprings or aerials. These are non-recital classes that focus on exercises and drills to master the standing and round-off back handsprings

Pre-Pointe

10 to 14 year olds (grades 4-8) A 30 minute class preparing the student for pointe. Class focuses on building strength in the students’ ankles and feet. This is a non-recital class.

Strength and Stretch

11 to 18 year olds (grades 5-12) Strength and Stretch is a 30 minute class that focuses on a variety of strengthening exercises as well as stretching.

Turns and Leaps

Turns and Leaps is a 30 minute class that focuses on the technique to perform basic to advanced turns and leaps. No age requirement but must have a clean double pirouette.

Gym 4

9 to 18 year olds (grades 4-12) A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level ranging from back walkovers to front handsprings. Must be able to do an aerial or a back handspring to be in Gym 4.

Gym 5

9 to 18 year olds (grades 4-12) A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level ranging from back walkovers to front handsprings. Must have a front aerial and round-off back tuck for Gym 5.

All-Star/Elite Acro

Jr. All-Star and Mini Elite teams A 40-55 minute class tailored to each individual student’s level ranging from back walkovers to front handsprings.
