Welcome dancers! We are so happy to be back in the studio dancing with all of our amazing students. The 2022-2023 dance season is going to be so much fun! We have all kinds of information listed here and on the Important Dates page. Please make sure you read through the news to keep you up to date and informed of everything going on at PADC!

Fall Registration Is Open

Registration is still open for classes for the 2022-2023 dance season. To register your child for dance, simply click on the link in the top menu titled Register and create an account or log in to sign-up. If this is your first time, please feel free to call the office, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have and get you signed up for the right classes.

Little Brown Jug Day & Halloween

This is just a reminder that the studio will be closed on Jug Day, Thursday, September 22nd and Halloween, October  31st for Trick-or-Treat. For a complete list of important dates, including vacation schedules and special events and activities, please visit the Important Dates page.

Facebook

PADC is on Facebook! Check out the studio’s page to stay up to date with everything that’s going on and stay connected with fellow dancers. Helpful reminders, announcements, pictures and videos are posted regularly as well as fun trivia or history.

Watch Week

Mark your calendars now! During watch week, the studio invites parents to watch class from inside the studio classrooms. Watch week will be Monday, Nov. 7 - Saturday, Nov. 12. This is a perfect time to take pictures of your child dancing in class. Please be considerate to the rest of the class and observers by keeping young siblings quiet while in the room. Due to space constraints, this is limited to immediate family only.

Studio Themes

Performing Arts Dance Centre participates in Monthly and Weekly Themes. This is a fun way to incorporate different topics, points of interest and fun days that the students will look forward to. All classes at the studio will be involved and invited to participate in the themes. (Depending on the theme, combo classes and competition classes may not participate due to time constraints) Each week’s theme will be posted on the bulletin board, Facebook and website (see the Schedule page). All families should also have received a calendar of themes when they registered. To help families remember and plan accordingly, the highlighted themes on that sheet are the only ones that would require thought ahead of time (Bring-A-Friend Week, Crazy Hair, Pajama Day…)

Boys Dance, Too!

We believe dance is for everyone! We encourage boys to try dance and follow their passion. Boys are invited to try a free class and will train in a safe, supportive environment. To add extra incentive for boys to try dance, we offer discounted rates for classes starting at only $25 a month! Contact the office for details.

Costume Deposits

Anyone who wants to participate in the June recital must pay a $60 costume deposit by November 10. After November 10, costume deposits are $65 per class. Costume deposits are non-refundable. Costume Balances will be due March 10. If your child is in multiple classes, you will need to pay a costume deposit for every class that they will be performing in for the recital. Also, if they are in multiple classes, there may be a chance your dancer will perform in multiple shows. We try very hard when creating the show order to place students who are in only two classes in the same show. Dancers who have several different dances and costumes will more than likely be in multiple shows to allow time to change from one dance to the next. With so many different class options for dancers to take, it’s impossible for us to guarantee families with either multiple dancers or who are in several classes to only perform in one show.

Shop PADC

Our retail shop, Dancer's Closet, carries everything from shoes to dancewear, and accessories to PADC spirit wear for the whole family. The shop is staffed at varying hours each week. Please check the calendar on the door to see when we are open.

Missed Classes

Just a reminder, there is no credit given for missed classes. If a student is absent from class because they are ill, has a school/family obligation, or if the weather is bad, the studio offers a make-up class. Make-up classes are the student’s responsibility and are strongly encouraged. Make-up classes must be completed within 4 weeks of the missed class. Check with your child’s teacher as to which class would be appropriate for them to join as a make-up.

Lost -n-Found

Please label all dance shoes and bags with your student's name. We have a Lost-n-Found located in the front foyer under the bench. This container fills up pretty quickly with water bottles, shirts, gloves, hats and, of course, DANCE SHOES! To help reduce the number of lost shoes, please make sure you write each dancer's name on the inside of every pair.

Studio Shirts

All students will receive a free studio t-shirt with their paid registration. We will begin to pass these out as soon as they arrive. If you have not received a shirt by the end of October, please see the office.

Window Decals

The studio will be taking orders for car window decals from Sept. 10 – Sept. 29. Decals are $12 and can be blank or personalized with your child’s name. If there is more than one dancer in the family, we can add their names under the first one at no additional charge. Decals are made of white vinyl and are applied to the exterior side of your window. They will stand up through car washings and rear window wipers. What a great way to show how proud you are of your dancer!

We won!!! Performing Arts Dance Centre won Reader’s Choice Best Dance Studio in Delaware! Thank you to everyone who voted! PADC is lucky to have the best students and families in the area!

Save The Date

Mark your calendars now! PADC will be participating in two holiday events. The first is Delaware’s annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 4. ALL STUDENTS are encouraged to attend. More details to follow as it gets closer. The second event will be our Christmas Show for Charity. This is an amazing event that collects thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children's Hospital as well as hundreds of canned goods for PIN right here in Delaware. PADC’s Christmas Show is tentatively scheduled for the second weekend in December. This is a charity event with admission being $5 and a canned good. A variety of classes will be asked to participate in this optional performance. More information will be passed out regarding this show in November.

Class Attire

Appropriate dance shoes and dance attire must be worn in all classes. All students must wear studio brand dance shoes. The studio also sells a variety of leotards, tights, skirts and dance bags. Absolutely no street shoes allowed in the classrooms.

Ballet: Solid color leotard, pink tights, pink Revolution ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun. Ballet 3-6 and pointe must wear a black leotard.

Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern: Any style leotard, tights, leggings, dance top or shorts and appropriate shoes. Check for class color and style.

Hip Hop: Proper dancewear or a tight-fitting t-shirt and shorts/pants and black hip hop shoes. No jeans.

Combo Classes: Any style leotard and tights, pink ballet shoes. Combo 2 also needs black tap shoes.

Gymnastics: Any style leotard and tights or biketard. Must wear black gymnastics shoes.

Account Login

Families are able to check their studio account through our software program, Jackrabbit. You can access it through the studio website padcdelaware.com. Click on Register/My Account from the main menu at the top of this page. This will take you to the login page where there are directions to help you log in for the first time. This is very important - if you use a different email than what the studio has on file, it will not work. Once you are logged in, you can see which classes your student is signed up for, track attendance/record absences, schedule future absences, check your current balance due, review your last payment and access many more useful tools.

Student Referrals

Spread the word, PADC offers a fabulous referral program! To thank you for the many referrals we receive, Performing Arts Dance Centre would like to reward those clients who pass along our good name to their friends and neighbors. Any current student who refers someone new to our studio for classes will receive $15 off their tuition for that month. The new student will also receive $15 off their tuition for their first month. To make things even better, in addition to the $15 tuition discount you receive for each referral, for every 5 new student referrals you make, you also will receive ONE FREE COSTUME DEPOSIT! To be eligible, the new student must put your name down on the referral line when they register and must also sign up for at least 1 month of classes. Previous students do not count toward referrals. We love all our referrals and thank you for speaking so highly of Performing Arts Dance Centre to your friends and neighbors! We appreciate it!!

Fundraising

PADC offers the opportunity to fundraise to help offset the cost of tuition and costumes. Anyone can participate who takes classes at the studio and whatever money you earn will go directly into your account. Keep a lookout for more information regarding fundraisers in your email and the studio’s Facebook page in the coming weeks.
